The benefits of recycling your metals
The benefits of recycling your metals include; reducing pollution, reducing waste going to landfill, saving money, using less energy and many more. Recycling Management aim to divert as much waste from landfill as possible. Metal recycling is simply the process of taking waste metal, processing it and creating new metal material. There are many advantages of recycling metal, including environmental benefits as well as energy savings.
What metals do we recycle?
Recycling Management recycle all grades of ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Non-ferrous and ferrous metals are the two main types of metals. The difference between the two is simply ferrous metals contain iron, this makes them prone to corrosion or rust making them less valuable as non-ferrous. Non-ferrous metals do not contain iron and are resistant to corrosion.
Examples of non-ferrous metals
- Copper
- Brass
- Aluminium
- Lead

Examples of ferrous metals
- Cast iron
- Mild steel
- Low carbon steel
- Tool steels

How metal is recycled
Metals are brought to our recycling centre where they are separated into different piles of ferrous and non-ferrous metals using our crane. Once separated, the metals are processed, often melted down and manufactured into new materials. At Recycling Management we collect, process and recycle over 1,000 tonnes of steel using our privately owned large scale shredder. We have the ability to export over 20,000 tonnes of steel every month.
